Jenny Vacchiano Itell, MFA

Jennifer Vacchiano's fiction and nonfiction have appeared in a variety of publications, among them: 5280, Redbook, StoryQuarterly, Cimarron Review and Women's Studies Quarterly. She was 3rd runner-up for the 2005 Faulkner-Wisdom Creative Writing Competition in the novel-in-progress category. She was awarded a 2006 Rocky Mountain Women's Institute Fellowship for work on the same novel.

Jennifer has been with Lighthouse Writers since 1998 and has taught a variety of workshops, including novel workshops, short story workshops and the young adult novel workshop.  Previously, she taught literature and composition classes at Johnson State College in Vermont, Community College of Vermont, and Emerson College in Boston.  She earned a B.A. in English from Grinnell College and an M.F.A. in creative writing from Emerson College.
