Elisa Gabbert, a poet and essayist, is the author of L’Heure Bleue, or the Judy Poems (Black Ocean, 2016); The Self Unstable, chosen by the New Yorker as one of the best books of 2013 and named one of the top 100 must-read works of genre-bending nonfiction by Book Riot (Black Ocean, 2013); and The French Exit (Birds LLC, 2010). Her poems and essays have appeared in the New Yorker, the Paris Review Daily, Boston Review, Guernica, Pacific Standard, Jubilat, the Awl, the Harvard Review, the Threepenny Review, Electric Literature, Catapult, Diagram, and many other journals.
