8-Week: Intermediate/Advanced Writing the Picture Book

This is an intermediate/advanced workshop for writers who have participated in the 8-week Writing the Children’s Picture Book and have a completed picture book story ready for feedback to push it to the next level. This course will focus on honing picture book storytelling and revision skills as we review applicable craft topics. Additionally, the workshop may include analysis of published picture books and exercises to enhance and deepen the learning experience. Each writer will have two opportunities for feedback on the same story—once upon an initial submission and second on a revised version.

Prerequisite: Lighthouse's 8-week: Writing the Children’s Picture Book, or a comparable class where talking about, workshopping, and writing the children's picture book were covered and permission from the instructor (for permission, please email info@lighthousewriters.org).
