Developing My Voice Across Decades and Genres: Pam Houston looks at how her voice has grown into itself over the course of her writing life. How she began with an emphasis on concision, edged into lyricism, borrowed from the writers she most admired, stopped trying to impress (whoever) and cultivated a generosity with herself. This talk will also investigate the difference in voice between fiction and nonfiction, and how a voice can accommodate to stretch various literary forms, while still remaining distinct and recognizable.
