8-Week: Nonfiction Workshop--Sharing and Refining Your CraftDescription:
Whether you’re pitching and writing journalism assignments or working on a personal memoir, the world of nonfiction writing can be a frustrating and lonely endeavor. How do you turn the kernel of an idea into a money-making story? How do you turn all your notes and reporting into a compelling narrative arc? How do you come up with crackerjack intros and perfect endings? All these questions and more will be answered as students share and workshop each other’s nonfiction writing, ranging from blog posts to magazine articles to nonfiction book chapters. Perfect for those who’ve taken other Lighthouse nonfiction classes and want to build on what they’ve learned as well as nonfiction first-timers, this hands-on workshop will provide you with the sort of in-depth editing and support nonfiction writers desperately need but all too rarely receive.
