4-Week: Reading as a Writer--The Letters of Emily Dickinson

Description:

Possibly the best way to know Emily Dickinson is through her letters. Discover the wit, intensity, kindness, and personality of the Belle of Amherst. We’ll read a large selection of Dickinson’s letters from her childhood letters to family when she was away at Mt. Holyoke, to letters to Thomas Higginson, editor at the Atlantic, and the mysterious Master Letters. Paired with the poems when possible, we will “dare to see a soul at the white heat.”

Please Note: This class meets every other Thursday.
