8 Week: Intermediate Science Fiction/Fantasy Workshop

The genres of science fiction and fantasy have been with us, in one form or another, for hundreds of years. Recently they've seen an upswing in popularity, even as the more literary expression of these genres has been euphemized as "speculative fiction." History and labels aside, there's an enduring quality to this "literature of the imagination" that pulls at the pens of writers of all backgrounds and interests. In this workshop, writers who would like to focus on solid goals--short stories and/or a novel--are welcome to work with other aspiring authors (and their Hugo Award-nominated instructor) in developing the motivation and skills necessary to carry your imaginative work of literature through to completion.
