Join us for a pre-weekend literary sprint during which attendees are encouraged to write 500 words independently (with subtle peer pressure) in the first hour and then join us for an hour to toast our achievements and socialize immediately following. (If you’re on a roll, keep writing!) Friday 500 is free for current Lighthouse members, and guests are welcome to join for a $5 fee.
Stick around after Friday 500 for a book launch and conversation with author and Lighthouse community member Krista Hanley and Colorado Public Radio's Ryan Warner! During this special event, Ryan and Krista will discuss Krista's writing process for her memoir How to Survive a Mass Shooting: A Columbine Memoir, and her journey of navigating the challenges of trauma and memory through her writing.
Young Writers aged 7-18 are invited to join a youth writing workshop during our monthly member event, Friday 500. One of the Young Writers Program faculty will lead a workshop designed for young writers in the youth room while adults focus on their own writing downstairs. Refreshments and snacks will be provided! Please register here for Youth Friday 500.
