Grand Lake 2022: COVID-19 Updates

Lighthouse is thrilled to be able to return to Shadowcliff Lodge for our 2022 Grand Lake Retreat from July 10 through 15. Writers can expect stimulating conversations about writing and literature, invigorating craft talks, an inspiring community, and as always, plenty of time and space to write.

Because of the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, we’ve made some small changes to the Grand Lake Retreat to ensure everyone’s safety. This information is subject to change as the situation evolves, but please keep the following in mind as you sign up for Grand Lake:

  • We ask that all attendees show proof of full COVID-19 vaccination here in advance of the retreat.
  • We'll be limiting this year's participants to 40 writers, plus six faculty.
  • Since some might not feel comfortable sharing rooms, we’re making more single rooms available than we have in the past. If you would like a double room and know who you would like your roommate to be, please email [email protected] after registering.
  • Meals will once again be available at Shadowcliff Lodge for those who purchase rooms or the workshops and meals option. Shadowcliff can accommodate some dietary restrictions, including vegetarian, gluten free, and dairy free options, but asks that those with more specific restrictions plan to supplement their meals.
  • During the retreat, Lighthouse will observe all CDC, Colorado, and Summit County Public Health Guidelines, including any distancing, masking, and indoor and outdoor capacity limits that are in effect in July.
  • Please note that Rocky Mountain National Park will be using a timed entry permit system this year, so if you plan on visiting the park, we recommend reserving your space as soon as possible. Read more here.

Please be aware of our full cancellation policy here.
