Unlock your child’s most powerful tool: Imagination!
Lighthouse’s homeschool program offers writing that meets academic standards through a holistic approach as your young writer creates epic stories, crafts rich prose, and makes friends along the way. All writing interests and abilities are welcome!
Lighthouse is thrilled to partner with Colorado Homeschool Enrichment (CHE) to offer a tuition-free, year-long program for homeschoolers ages 7 to 18. This weekly workshop led by trained faculty and published authors will encourage young writers to learn the importance of writing and creativity, and have a ton of fun making original works across genres and content areas. Students will be organized into age-appropriate groups.
Are you already enrolled in a publicly-funded enrichment for this school year? Your young writers can still participate in writing workshops for homeschool students with a paid option for the semester.
Check out what this program will be like at a free, hour-long workshop at Lighthouse, with options to join throughout the summer. Register for a Homeschool Preview Day.

Schedule
Young Writers will meet at Lighthouse’s headquarters from 9:30 AM to 2:30 PM on Wednesdays during the 2026-27 academic year, with monthly field trips on a Monday or Friday to enhance learning.

Cost
Lighthouse’s year-long homeschool enrichment program is available for free to students through Colorado Homeschool Enrichment, and as a paid program for families who have already enrolled in a publicly-funded enrichment program.
Why Lighthouse?
Our Young Writers Program (YWP) supports homeschool families by giving students the opportunity to work with our incredible faculty of published writers. This student-centered model combines critical thinking with creative self-discovery and students will leave with a portfolio of writing that showcases their unique voice and development. While meeting state academic standards, we celebrate each child’s inherently wild sense of possibility. We will also partner with local museums and organizations to incorporate other subject areas like science and history for a holistic learning experience
