The Portfolio Year opens up the mentor-cohort model to all genres and skill levels looking to level up. Mentors will select cohorts who share a level and focus, or any number of other considerations.
This program is suitable for:
- Beginners or people returning to writing after a hiatus, eager to engage in the creative process, find their voice, and learn the foundations of one or more genre(s).
- Intermediate writers who have written short stories, screenplays, poetry, or nonfiction, and are seeking to build their professional portfolio or prepare the groundwork for a larger book project.
- Experienced writers with specific program goals, like entering MFA programs or the Book Project, seeking an agent, editor, or manager, or applying for fellowships, residencies, or other professional goals.
