Short Stories: Online Summer Camp for ages 14-18

Our goal for this camp is to write a short story in a week! We’ll cover everything you need to build a solid foundation: structure, shape, character, setting, tension, twists, surprises, where to start, where to end, and more. And we’ll do it all in less than 2,500 words. Short stories are a great place to build your fiction muscles as well as experiment. If you love to write weird things or you want to try writing a story in reverse, this is the place for you. If you want to write something short–and finish it–this is a great camp to join. If you want to write a realistic story set in your favorite town, this is the place for you, too. If you’re not sure what type of story you want to write, this camp will help you out. We’ll also read and discuss published short stories by contemporary authors in a range of genres. Bring your ideas and let’s get going!
