$255.00 Members
$280.00 Non-members

Children's literature is a sacred opportunity to create timeless stories that live with readers long into their adulthood, where they will share those same stories with the next generation. In this four-week workshop, we’ll discover which age range or genre your story fits into and dive deeply into the basics of storytelling for young people. We’ll learn what special considerations are needed when writing children’s literature; the foundational story skills of theme, character, plot, and worldbuilding; and the basics of giving and receiving critique. Each class will include time for freewriting to get you in the creative mindset, followed by a lecture on each weekly topic. The instructor will provide examples and writing exercises to apply this new knowledge to your own stories.
