To celebrate the release of Lighthouse’s Adult Community Engagement anthology, All the Lives We Ever Lived Vol. 7, join us for a cozy evening of open mic readings by anthology contributors, community writing activities hosted by our friends at Listen To Your Skin Press and Events, Sacred Voices, and The Word, A Storytelling Sanctuary, and the community creation of a Golden Thread Collage by Nyasha Williams.
Here’s the breakdown of the evening:
-
6 PM: Partake in light appetizers, desserts, and NA beverages while we distribute this year’s anthology. All anthology contributors will receive two free copies and a Lighthouse swag bag. Additional copies can be purchased by both contributors and event attendees for $15.
-
Throughout the night: Drop-in writing activities including collage, Oulipo-based (structured) writing prompts, children’s-book inspired writing, bookmark making, haikus, and more!
-
6:15 PM to 8 PM: Anthology contributor open mic (in person and livestreamed) hosted by Lighthouse instructor Negean Mohi. Open mic slots will be limited so come early to secure your spot! Contributor readings should be no longer than five minutes.
All attendees are invited to join Lighthouse instructor Nyasha Williams as she hosts a special collective divination session for Lighthouse’s Community Engagement Program. Together we'll choose the decks that call to us, shuffle in our shared intentions, and speak to who the Lighthouse community is at its heart and what it's calling in. From this collective divination, Nyasha will create a Golden Thread collage which will live in the Lighthouse building as a lasting piece of art that reflects the Community Engagement Program’s truest self and intentions.
