Billy Lezra holds an MFA in nonfiction writing from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. They have contributed essays to Ploughshares Journal, Electric Literature, The Washington Post, TODAY, and elsewhere. Their essay, "A Salad-Eating Competition," was nominated for Best American Essays. Their work has been supported by Tin House, LAMBDA Literary, the Sewanee Writers’ Conference, and Bread Loaf. They currently serve as the editor-in-chief of Rough Cut Press, a literary magazine that publishes emerging and established queer voices.
