Christopher Castellani's fifth novel, Last Seen, will be published by Viking in February 2026. He is also the author of Leading Men (Viking, 2019) for which he received fellowships from the Guggenheim Foundation, MacDowell, and the Massachusetts Cultural Council, among others. Searchlight Pictures is currently adapting Leading Men for film, with Peter Spears (Nomadland) as producer. The Art of Perspective: Who Tells the Story (Graywolf, 2016), Christopher's book of essays on narration in fiction, is taught in many writing workshops. He is a longtime member of the faculty of the Warren Wilson MFA program and the Bread Loaf Writers' Conference, the chair of the Writing panel at YoungArts (aka the National Foundation for the Advancement of Artists), and is the current Writer-in-Residence at Brandeis University. For Last Seen, Christopher was awarded a 2024 Literature Fellowship from the National Endowment for the Arts, and for his generosity toward fellow writers and his contributions to the literary community, he was awarded the 2015 Barnes and Noble/Poets and Writers "Writer for Writers" Award. He lives in Boston and Provincetown, MA.
