What Evanthia looks for in Book Project mentee: I’m in search of mentees with a dedication to creating work that is astoundingly original and memorable in style, voice or form. My taste is wide-ranging; I take the art of writing seriously in its diverse sources, influences and inspirations, and I wish to work with mentees willing to read widely to master their craft. I’m passionate about a diverse community, and by this I mean that I deeply respect the profound ways that each person's identity, culture, background, experience, and opinions enrich our community, help us to collaborate and celebrate one another as opposed to competing, and I deeply value rigorous intellectual and artistic discussion. I care about my mentees and their work, and the craft we study will be highly personalized to your project, as will the reading and feedback. For my 2026–28 cohort, I’m seeking writers at work in all genres but am especially interested in contemporary literary projects.
