Stuck on where to take your short story or novel? Craving a different perspective on your work? Bored of the typical workshop critique format? In this course, we’ll undergo unique revision exercises to refuel your imagination and broaden your short story or novel chapters. After four weeks, you’ll have a deeper understanding of your plot and characters, several new drafts of your story, new ideas for where to take your piece, and greater ease with sharing your work.
Though all levels are welcome, you must have a short story or a few chapters of a novel completed to participate in this class.
Writers will be expected to prepare a short presentation of their story for the class—this can include reading from your work and a short description of the plot and characters. Each class will open with a presentation, then move into revision exercises with in-class writing time.
