We'll study women surrealists as a means of opening our writing to new formal and conceptual possibilities. Each week the instructor will provide readings from a distinct surrealist: Remedios Varo, Susanne Cesaire, Mina Loy, etc. Students will receive prompts, though all writing is welcome. Class time will include close readings of surrealist poets with related prompts, some in-class writing, and focused critique of participant work.
Scheduling note: This class will skip the week of Thanksgiving.
