As writers, we know how important it is to also be a reader. For this month’s Queer Creatives meetup, we’re putting away our laptops and pens, and picking up our books for a cozy evening of reading and community at Lighthouse. Join us at 6 PM in the Lighthouse cafe for fall appetizers and cozy drinks while we get to know each other a bit. At 6:30 PM we’ll pick a cozy spot in the building—yes, we have couches and a fireplace!—and just read together for an hour. We’ll have bookmark making supplies (including some fun charms and dried flowers!) as well.
Bring your own books—or grab one from the Lighthouse shelves—and blankets, pillows, anything to help you feel comfy and cozy while we read in community!
Queer Creatives is a community writing program that aims to connect LGBTQIA+* writers and makers through collective story making and story sharing. LGBTQIA+ is an abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and more. We also welcome folks who are questioning their gender or sexual orientation and those who are in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities.
