West Fest: Setting as Character

$75.00 Members
$85.00 Non-members

This craft seminar is for writers who feel good (or good-ish) writing characters, but feel less comfortable with settings—until now! We’ll turn our settings into character-like entities by directly applying human elements such as perspective, plot, psychology, culture, and more. We’ll also look at the ways our weather, climate, and terrain provide unique opportunities for symbolism, theme, and narrative texture. White Room Syndrome, begone! Writers can expect this generative class to provide examples, discussion, and lots of exercises.

This course is a part of West Fest, a celebration of writing in and about the American West, the weekend of November 7–8. To learn more and explore passes, which include discounted registrations to this class, click here [Link to landing page].
