Join the literary event of the summer from anywhere in the world!
For over twenty years and counting, Lighthouse Writers Workshop hosts a multi-day celebration for readers and writers to share their love of the literary arts. Lit Fest has craft seminars, business panel discussions, two-day intensive workshops, and readings from our impressive lineup of Visiting Authors.
This year’s Lit Fest is from June 12 to 19. While many events are taking place in Denver, the capital of Colorful Colorado, there is still plenty to attend without leaving home.
Visiting Authors include fiction writers Melissa Broder, Mat Johnson, Rebecca Makkai, and Brandon Taylor; nonfiction writers Emily Rapp Black and Andre Dubus III; and poet Layli Long Soldier.

How To Be An Author For Hire

Craft Seminars
Craft seminars have a high impact in a short amount of time. In just two hours, dig deep into a specific element of craft that you want to explore. In some workshops, all participants are online, but some are hybrid, so make sure to pick the experience that works best for you.

Business Panels
While the creative side to being a writer will get you high-quality work, it’s the business side that's going to get you published. Check out one or several hour-long panel discussions (during lunch if you’re in Mountain Time) on finding the right literary agent, pitching to lit mags, and more. These panels are livestreams, so you can listen in and ask questions (if there's time).

Visiting Author Readings
Several award-winning authors–focusing on fiction, memoir, poetry, and screenwriting–teach at Lit Fest and read from their latest works. This year’s lineup includes the author of The Great Believers, Rebecca Makkai; Paul Muldoon, who won the Pulitzer Prize for Poetry; and Megha Majumdar, whose latest release was featured on Oprah’s Book Club Pick. Watch a livestream of your favorite authors reading the words you love! Readings are just $5 or free for members.

Two-Day Intensives
Want to dive deeper into a specific element of craft? This year's virtual two-day intensive is all about Being a Romantic Poet in the 21st Century.
