Join us on Friday for a writing extravaganza during which attendees are encouraged to independently (with subtle peer pressure) write 500 words in the first hour and then join us for an hour to socialize immediately following. (If you’re on a roll, keep writing!) Friday 500 is free for current Lighthouse members, and guests are welcome to join for a $5 fee.
We also invite you to register for a special pre-Friday 500 craft seminar, Impossible Stories from an Untrustworthy Past, taught by visiting author Dr. Terence Keel! Stick around after Friday 500 for a special book talk and conversation with Dr. Keel, author of The Coroner's Silence: Death Records and the Hidden Victims of Police Violence.
Young Writers aged 7-18 are invited to join a youth writing workshop during our monthly member event, Friday 500. One of the Young Writers Program faculty will lead a workshop designed for young writers in the youth room while adults focus on their own writing downstairs. Refreshments and snacks will be provided! Please register each adult and young writer attending.
