In this generative, low-stakes meetup for Queer Creatives we'll use our favorite music videos as ripe sources of imagery, voice, emotion, and narrative. Together we'll ditch the literary greats and leap towards Beyoncé, moving beyond old-school exercises and into cross-disciplinary inspiration. Through group viewing and guided prompts, we’ll experiment with new ways into our poetry, fiction, memoir, and hybrid work.
Queer Creatives is a community writing program that aims to connect LGBTQIA+* writers and makers through collective story making and story sharing. LGBTQIA+ is an abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and more. We also welcome folks who are questioning their gender or sexual orientation and those who are in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities.
