Wil Haygood

Wil Haygood is the author of ten nonfiction books, including Showdown: Thurgood Marshall and the Supreme Court Nomination that Changed America. Lee Daniel’s film The Butler is based on his story of White House butler Eugene Allen. Haygood wrote The Butler: A Witness to History as a companion to the film. He has been a correspondent for The Washington Post and The Boston Globe, where he was a Pulitizer finalist. Haygood is a Guggenheim Foundation fellow and a National Endowment for the Humanities fellow and is currently Broadway Visiting Distinguished Scholar at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio.
