4-Week: And... Scene!

$255.00 Members

The basic unit of storytelling is the scene. Scenes are the building blocks that lock together into a plot, and each scene is a microcosm of the whole story, containing identifiable ingredients that propel the narrative: struggle, emotional resonance, a sense of possibility or change. In this seminar, we'll study how different types of scenes are designed and create maps to guide our own constructions. Through close readings of great literature, in-class writing, brainstorming sessions, and post-class prompts, students can expect to emerge with a practical toolkit to craft their own scenes and stories.
