As creatives, our very active minds run with ideas, images, sound bites, and obsessions, all the juicy material that ends up on the page. But our minds can also run with things that aren't quite as helpful: rumination, worry, and anxiety. Luckily, we have a secret weapon in the fight for our minds: writing!

In this class, we'll explore how creative writing can be a powerful tool for reversing the downward spiral of negative thinking and learn how to interrupt anxious thought patterns and use our creativity to cultivate more empowered, hopeful, and grounded thinking. Through guided prompts and discussion, we'll practice shifting from self-criticism and self-doubt into curiosity and self-trust, all while deepening your writing practice. We'll leave with practical tools to access our voice even when anxiety is loud, and to move through creative blocks with more ease.

Sharing is always optional. All levels of writing experience are welcome. Join us for an upward spiral of creativity.

This course is part of our Writing for Wellness program, which focuses on the relationship between the creative act of writing and wellbeing. While we may look at craft during these programs, our focus will be on writing that supports ourselves as human beings.
