Do outlines drive you nuts? Do Roman numerals give you flashbacks from staying up all night to crash out high school term papers? This class is the cure! You may not come to believe outlines are sexy, but the class will do its best to convince you—or at least help you work out the structural kinks of your writing project, big or small. In this class, participants will present chapters or excerpts from their nonfiction manuscripts and receive new perspectives on structure and organization. The instructor will provide lessons on how to outline, focus, research, and counter writer's block. Participants will leave the class knowing how to organize raw research materials (interviews, letters, documents, memories) into fully formed chapters.
Writers in this class can expect in-class workshopping, written and verbal feedback, readings, lectures, and plenty of discussion.
