Following a student-centered model, young writers will be introduced to a variety of community-centered exercises, critical thinking activities, and opportunities for self-reflection and self-knowledge through the lens of creative writing. We’ll work together to gain self confidence and have a ton of fun creating original works while learning about the importance of writing and creativity individually and globally. We’ll gather at lighthouse headquarters as our home-base and venture outside to explore our environment and community. One Friday or Monday each month, we will go on a field trip to places like the Denver Museum of Nature and Science, the Denver Art Museum, or the Colorado Center for Women’s History.
This is a state-funded, tuition-free homeschool enrichment program. Before you register, please ensure you can commit to the entire school year with the exception of sick or vacation days. Colorado will only fund one homeschool enrichment program per child, so please make sure you are not enrolled in another other state-funded program. Email [email protected] with any questions.
Parents are invited to find a cozy nook at Lighthouse to hang out while their kids are in enrichment.
There will be weeks off for holidays, winter break, and spring break. A calendar will be shared with enrolled families.
