Writing in Color: July Drafted Together

$0.00 Members
$5.00 Non-members

Writing in Color programming celebrates writers and creatives of all genres and levels, focusing on the traditions, histories, triumphs, and challenges of those who identify as Black, Indigenous, or People of Color (BIPOC+). The goal of this program is to support BIPOC+ writers and creatives as they focus on their writing practice by fostering a supportive and encouraging community. We ask that all participants be mindful of this intention; anyone who is disruptive may be asked to leave.

When Language Fails The Character
Using a series of prompts that will challenge us to write in the voice of troubled characters, this meetup will explore how a character's trauma can be processed in our writing through specific situations, other characters, or the character's themselves. These generative writing exercises will help us invoke personal feelings around failure/flaws so we can work on writing characters and stories that have the potential to develop over time.

Each registered attendee will receive a drink ticket for one alcoholic or non-alcoholic drink. Spots for this meetup are limited so sign up today!
