Jessica's Website

Jessica Roeder was born in Chicago and lives in Duluth, Minnesota. Her forthcoming linked-story collection The Bones of the Mouse Make the Cat won the W.S. Porter Prize. She has taught writing in academic and community venues for many years. She also teaches dance and works as a copyeditor and proofreader for book publishers. Her stories, poems, and essays have appeared in magazines including Ploughshares, Kenyon Review, Threepenny Review, American Poetry Review, and AGNI. Staircases Will Outnumber Us, a prose chapbook, is available from Red Bird, and Trees Full of Walking, a poetry chapbook, will be published by Dancing Girl. Honors include a Pushcart Prize, a Minnesota State Arts Board grant, and two McKnight fellowships. She is working on a new novel.
