Dissolving the Walls: Queer Adventures Beyond Craft
In formal critique environments, "craft" often gets construed as a set of rules that writers can either conform to or break entirely. But what about those writers who swim between the lines of what craft dictates, seizing what serves them and upending what doesn't? During this Queer Creatives meetup, we'll look to LGBTQIA+ authors who toy with craft as a construct and liquefy its boundaries in service of exciting new literary visions. Writers will have the chance to chat through what craft means to them, dive into playful, generative prompts, and share their work with peers.
Queer Creatives monthly Meetups areĀ open to writers of all genres and creatives of all types who identify as members of LGBTQIA+* communities. We also welcome folks who are questioning their gender or sexual orientation and those who are in solidarity with LGBTQIA+ communities. Our intention is to center LGBTQIA+* people and their stories through the Queer Creatives program.
*LGBTQIA+ is an abbreviation for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, asexual, and more.
